Meet Mary
Mary Lor is a painter, wool artist, and surface designer who enjoys using vibrant colors in her work.
Mary discovered her artistic abilities and the joy it brought her only after college, graduate school, and a career in the business world. She began her artistic career as a floral designer and progressed, over time, into painting, wool art, and surface design. Working primarily in oils and in gouache, Mary has studied painting with New York painters Eric Michelson, Melanie Kozol, and Brian Rutenberg. Her wool “paintings” combine her painting and fiber-arts skills to create beautiful, textural art. Mary has most recently added digital design for surfaces to her repretoire. In addition to this website, Mary's wool art and her surface design work can be found on Etsy and on Spoonflower. Mary’s paintings are in private collections in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Her art has been shown in juried exhibitions at the National Association of Women Artists, Westbeth Gallery, and the 92nd St. Y in New York City, Reboli Center, Mills Pond House Gallery, Fotofoto Gallery, and Gallery North on Long Island, Blue Door Art Center in Yonkers, and Filoli in Woodside, California.
